The December 2012 edition of “Maerz News” focuses on the ability of Maerz to locally manufacture kiln components in several countries world-wide, on a successful conversion project from natural gas to lignite firing in a Polish lime plant as well as on new orders received and successfully implemented projects.

Maerz Ofenbau AG, being embedded in ThyssenKrupp Polysius’ world-wide network of companies, has recently taken advantage of being able to have the steel structure for its kilns manufactured in China. Maerz recently placed an order with Polysius Shanghai to supply the steel structure for a large PFR Kiln.
[more]Fuel alternatives in ZPW Trzuskawica’s Kujawy lime plant
Fuel costs are a key factor in the production of quicklime and, consequently, flexibility in the use of low cost fuels of utmost importance. Kujawy lime plant is operating two 450 tpd Maerz PFR Kilns since 1972, initially with heavy fuel oil, later on with natural gas as fuels. Kiln No. 1 has now been successfully converted to lignite dust firing.
