Maerz Ofenbau AG is the leader in process engineering, in the design and engineering of kilns and plants for the calcination of limestone and dolomite, in upstream plants for the handling of limestone and dolomite, as well as in plants for screening, storing and further processing of burnt lime, for example in hydration plants.

 

To date, approximately 500 kilns, and calcining plants, have been built for the lime and dolomite industry in some 60 countries worldwide. 

Maerz’s services are utilised by customers world-wide. Construction work is done by local constructors either for Maerz (in turn-key projects) or for the end-user. Maerz delivers know-how and engineering; Maerz provides expert staff and is offering performance guarantees for all plants.

Local manufacturing of kiln steel structure in China

Maerz Ofenbau AG, being embedded in ThyssenKrupp Polysius’ world-wide network of companies, has recently taken advantage of being able to have the steel structure for its kilns manufactured in China. Maerz recently placed an order with Polysius Shanghai to supply the steel structure for a large PFR Kiln.

Fuel alternatives in ZPW Trzuskawica’s Kujawy lime plant

Fuel costs are a key factor in the production of quicklime and, consequently, flexibility in the use of low cost fuels of utmost importance. Kujawy lime plant is operating two 450 tpd Maerz PFR Kilns since 1972, initially with heavy fuel oil, later on with natural gas as fuels. Kiln No. 1 has now been successfully converted to lignite dust firing.
