Maerz Lime Kilns. Worldwide.

Hannes Piringer Retires

After 33 years of dedicated service, one of Maerz Ofenbau’s most distinguished employees, Hannes Piringer, retired in November this year. Hannes began his career as a commissioning engineer, where he spent several years gaining an in-depth knowledge of PFR kilns. Over the years, he held various positions within the company, including Chief Operating Officer; before becoming Technical Director and member of the Management Board in 1999. In this role, he was responsible for process engineering and the continuous development of our kilns, contributing greatly to Maerz’ technological progress.

Passionate about technology and a skilled mechanical engineer, Hannes played a key role in shaping our products. As well as continuously improving our plants, he spearheaded the development of our new Maerz EcoKiln® series, which is playing a significant part in reducing the carbon footprint of the lime industry. Under his leadership, the HPS single-shaft kiln was successfully introduced to the market and has since become a cornerstone of our product portfolio. In 2017, we added CemCat SCR systems for the denitrification of kiln off-gases in the cement industry to our product range; a technology that Hannes has also optimised continuously. Most recently, he made significant contributions to the further development of our Maerz hydration plants, once again demonstrating his commitment to innovation and technical excellence.

During his time with us, he built a strong team of dedicated process and software engineers. They will carry his legacy forward, ensuring the future success of our company by continuing the path of innovation and continuous improvement to which he was so committed.

Throughout his long career, Hannes Piringer played a pivotal role in shaping the lime industry. He will be fondly remembered by our customers and especially by his colleagues, as a helpful and highly competent technical expert. We wish Hannes and his family all the very best for his retirement - a new chapter in which he will finally have plenty of time to enjoy his many passions, including travelling, mountaineering, photography and woodturning.

Thank you for everything you have done for Maerz, Hannes!

Do you have any suggestions on the topic or want to know more? I look forward to hearing from you.
