Maerz innovation continues: Successful commissioning of a 10 t/h hydration plant in the UAE

In June 2025, Maerz successfully commissioned hydration plant for Power International in Fujairah, UAE, featuring a Maerz hydrator with a capacity of 10 t/h of hydrated lime. This project is the logical extension following the successful commissioning of the 350 t/d oil-fired lime kiln in late 2024.

The hydration plant enables Power International to upgrade its high-quality quicklime (CaO) into premium hydrated lime (Ca(OH)₂). Together, these two state-of-the-art facilities solidify Power International’s position as a leading market player in the lime industry both regionally and beyond.

Outstanding Performance, Proven Technology
The hydration plant exceeds all contractually agreed parameters and is already delivering excellent hydrate at 10 t/h, having a surface moisture of 0.33 wt.% and a fineness of 97.3 % < 90 µm. High product quality and consistently stable process conditions confirm the strength and robustness of Maerz engineering.

New milestone on the Horizon

Beyond the hydration plant, another exciting milestone is on the horizon. In July 2025, the commissioning of a state-of-the-art gas firing system will commence. This advanced system ensures uniform fuel distribution, resulting in homogeneous and reliable lime quality across the entire kiln cross-section. This provides Power International with the flexibility to switch seamlessly between gas and oil firing, a major strategic advantage for resilient and future-proof operations.

A big thank you to everyone whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in achieving this success. Together, we are raising the bar and shaping the future of the lime industry!
