Modernisation of a 40-Year-Old Maerz Lime Kiln in La Laja, Argentina

The Calidra Group has decided to carry out a comprehensive modernisation of their first Maerz PFR lime kiln, which was originally commissioned in 1986 at their La Laja site in the province of San Juan. This measure forms part of a holistic modernisation plan designed to significantly improve efficiency and product quality.

The modernisation includes the renewal of all major components, including skip winch, gas firing system, hydraulic system and the entire electrical installation. In addition, a new dedusting system will be installed, to meet the latest environmental standards.

The existing Maerz PFR lime kilns, together with the recently installed classification and milling plant for lime, play a key role in modern lime production and enable Calidra meeting its high quality standards.
