Maerz Lime Kilns. Worldwide.

New Chief Technology Officer / CTO

We are pleased to share that Patrick Bucher assumed the role of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Maerz as of 1 May 2025, succeeding Hannes Piringer. Patrick has been with Maerz since 2008 and is well known to many customers for his extensive experience in process engineering and commissioning.

To ensure a smooth transition and continuity in technical leadership, Hannes Piringer will continue to support Patrick in an advisory capacity until November. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Hannes Piringer for his outstanding commitment and invaluable contributions over many years – as both an engineer and a member of the executive board. We wish him all the best for his well-deserved retirement.

Patrick Bucher holds a Master of Science degree from ETH Zurich and brings more than 17 years of hands-on experience with Maerz technologies and processes. As a process engineer, he has worked on a wide range of projects involving PFR and HPS kilns, SCR systems, and hydrate plants – from planning to worldwide commissioning. His troubleshooting expertise during commissioning has been crucial to the successful completion of numerous projects and the fulfilment of warranty criteria.

Patrick has led both our commissioning and site management teams, and later took over responsibility for the process engineering department. Among other achievements, he established and developed our in-house laboratory. His deep technical knowledge and practical mind-set make him a trusted point of contact for colleagues, suppliers and customers alike.

A married father of two, Patrick combines professional excellence with a strong focus on practical, customer-oriented solutions. In his new role as CTO, he will continue to drive innovation and ensure future-ready technical leadership at Maerz.
