Maerz Lime Kilns. Worldwide.

New Contract Awarded by Barrick Pueblo Viejo in the Dominican Republic

We are delighted to announce that Maerz has been awarded a new contract by Barrick Pueblo Viejo in the Dominican Republic. This significant project is the result of a long-standing partnership that began nearly 15 years ago, when we successfully supplied three R3P kilns, each with a capacity of 550 tpd, for the Pueblo Viejo project. Five years ago, we also successfully completed the conversion of these kilns to natural gas, further strengthening our collaboration.

This new contract reflects the trust Barrick Pueblo Viejo continues to place in Maerz and highlights our commitment to delivering reliable, high-quality solutions to our customers. As part of the new project, we will supply one R5S PFR kiln with a capacity of 800 tpd, which will also be fired with natural gas. In addition to the engineering, the contract includes the supply of the complete steel structure, the refractory materials, and all other necessary components. The contract was signed in May, and the implementation of the project has already begun.

With this investment, Barrick Pueblo Viejo continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to the Pueblo Viejo site and the long-term development of the region by extending the mine life beyond.
